CONVICTION

GREAT STORY

This is based on a true story which is the base for countless good movies out there.

The direction, acting, and script were all good.

Its about a woman, Betty Ann Waters, played by Hilary Swank, whose brother is wrongfully convicted of murder.   She puts herself through law school while being a working mother to represent her brother in his murder conviction after he exhausted all of his appeals with public defenders.

A feel good movie.  I love seeing someone wrongly convicted of murder and left rotting in a prison for life set free.  What set him free?  DNA.  Sibling love is laced throughout this movie.

She fights through law school is put on probation.  Her kids willingly want to move in with their dad.  She damn near drops out.  She passes the bar.  The gets in touch with the Innocence Project who specialize in helping free the wrongly convicted through DNA evidence.  They help her find that her brother is not the killer.  But the DA knowing they were wrong refuses to let him out and wants to try him as an accessory.  Gay ass shit. I know.  But it makes for a good movie as she has to circumvent bullshit throughout the whole movie.

Cops lied, ex-bitches/witnesses lied,  prosecutors did what they do, and voila you got an innocent nigga in jail.  Dirty motherfucking cops.
